i love and hate the cold weather. cos its such a pain to go the the toilet in the mornings, and by that i don't mean constipation, but the seat is
freezing cold. oh well, i still love it anyways.
did BDA tutorial with awing in her car today, instead of the library. haha. it was so comfy! and we finished early, so we were just chilling and she was playing Mayday's new album for me. we really didn't feel like going for lecture after. haha.
can't wait for 선미 to pass me the korean movie!! she watched it twice, and said she cried. must be good. plus the hols are coming so i can watch it! but first i have to survive oral presentation n test, and some of my hols will be busted by assignments. holidays holidays holidays =)
omg. i thought i saw choi shiwon on my school campus the other day. my heart almost stopped! haha. but its impossible i know.

this has been the busiest week so far. stupid IFIM textbook, i had to read for 3 days before i finished a chapter. i'm beginning to wonder why i even gave up my elective to do finance. all those financial terms are so
icky.
went for the
International Student's Welcome last friday @
Adelaide's Town Hall. pretty fun experience, and nice food! there were people takingphotos with 2 koalas. and this guy in a BIG thing...

and apparently, therewas a freak. and only esther would know what i'm referring to. hah. sorry, but that, was seriously an overused P-U-L. esther & i were like moving around the hall, trying to camouflage ourselves la. we all took a picture with the Lord Mayor.anw, i was scrolling thru' wad seemed like hundreds of photos and came to a conclusion that the Mayor must have developed a mouth cramp that evening.but he did a real good job of smiling nicely in every photo. haha. then there was this guy speaking on stage, and everyone was so enthusiastically shouting when their countries were named. u could very easily tell when Japan was announced. it was HIGH PITCHED. lol. i would have to doubt there were any s'poreans bsides esther & i though. there was no cheering at all for s'pore n taiwan. the wait for a bus was a nightmare though. it was the 3rd time i decided the night before that i'll wear shorts tmr and the weather just decided to pull a trick on me. so there i was, under the dark gloomy sky, turning blue and shivering. but autumn's officially here! (i think), so no more weather guessing.
went for mamak's night@ UniSA city west campus on saturday! i was wondering wad on earth is that when i received hsien fei's email abt it. it was cold that night too! but this time i was prepared. basically, u buy tickets, be seated at a table with ur friends, and whoever, and get served indian-malay food! as i said, i love food too much. i can never resist it. haha.we had prata & dhal as appetizer, followed by nasi lemak. ooh, the dhal was cooked by a german guy and they claimed it's better than last yr's which they ordered from an indian supplier. haha. mmm mmm~the sweets were equally YUM!but the best on that freezing night has got to be the teh tarik! i was sohappy we were each entitled to 2 cups. <3>
i'm probably not very serious about uni still, cos last macro lecture, when we were on the topic employment and labour, i was the only one laughing, save for another guy, when our lecturer said, "today we're all gonna go into labour."

wow. this week has been pretty hectic. i've got 2 assignments and a test falling into the same week. miraculously, i sort of found the solution to assignment 1, which sunmi, andy & i spent 2 hrs on on thursay and got stuck somewhere. i couldn't help but smile and went
아사! when the answers finally worked out and i striked it off my list of things to do mentally. the next big hurdle is oral presentation. the mere 5min is gonna be more like 5 hrs for me. public speaking has never been my thing. u can know wad u are supposed to do to give a good presentation but once u are standing in front of everyone else and they are staring right at u, that's it. my mind is just like a clean slate with NOTHING. sigh. and i haven't even prepared for it. i love macro, but i hope it doesn't get too hard & ruin my impression of it.
after 2hrs of working on IS assignment 2 on thursday, we finally decided to save it since we had no idea how to do it. we just managed to save it onto our USBs which was also the minute that andy's laptop decided it had no more life to give. after which sunmi took me to the korean restaurant where her 2 frens are working. i was so excited as we were walking there, and craving badly for authentic
korean food! we talked about wad
music we liked,
movies,
clothes and
plastic surgery. ha. yes, i'm gaining more insight into all things korean. the place had a really nice interior. i told sunmi that her shy fren reminded me of
시야 존수's baby voice. heh. we had spicy pork ribs, which was good but abit
spicy. i must have looked like i was about to explode. i was given a fork to use, prolly like every local that comes in to eat, although i really wanted to use their
super thin metal chopsticks and i've been practicing at home with my own set. i always thought that it must involve a great deal of skills to eat with that kinda chopsticks, not to mention eat with grace. and we were having pork ribs. not easy. she had 1 and 1/2 bowls of rice, and told me she usually eats at 8, so she'll be going home to have a 2nd dinner with her family. i almost did a double take. she's so thin! i want korean genes too! i'll probably die envying their healthy hair n skin all day long. after dinner we had 'shiggae', i think, it's a traditional sweet drink that you drink from a bowl. i've never even had it when i ate in perth's korean restaurant, i'm so glad there's sunmi. haha. oh, and she thought me how to say goodlooking & ugly and asked me to apply it on her 2 friends. funny. =)

everytime i try to update an entry, the internet dies on me. that's really annoying...i'm beginning to miss the times when i could youtube w/o limits and still the monthly fee doesn't exceed what they charge here. not to mention that back home, the connection was super reliable. anyway, i guess uni life is just gonna get busier, tutes start this week, and i've got so much that i've yet to complete! so i wont be able to log onas often. since the net's so frustrating, i'll just talk about my 1st wk in uni rather than day by day. i'm not suffering from culture shock or anything, i think. cos i've heard so much abt it being so hard that i kinda steeled myself for it. the first day didn't go so well for me, but i know i can't be the only one. i had the
i-thought-it-was-a-touchscreen incident which was darn embarrassing! (
jenny, are u reading this? maybe not, since u're so busy =P) i just hoped that everyone were too busy minding their own 1st day bloopers than to notice mine! i'm seriously
in love with macro lectures, and i kinda like the tutorial also. i'm not quite sure about the rest though. info systems seems familiar but too detailed though, and really, there's too much to do for just one tutorial. BDA has too much to read as well. and macro's just the opposite, which is why i love it, and i can still rmb stuff from yr12. had lunch on one afternoon with esther on barr smith lawns, sat on the math lawns after some lectures to chat too, doing it the aussie way and getting use to the pokey grass. lol. i'm gonna try to make an effort to live life differently, and hopefully things wouldn't turn out like when i was in perth, and the result, i was such an unhappy & moody person most of the entire time i was there. so far, i'm one happy person =) went to
OCF with esther on friday.wasn't too daunting cos it was a smaller community. headed down to
TheVillage on sat, (which is this super fine student accomodation block!) for the
Singapore Association bbq. i expected outdoors activities, afterall it'a a bbq right? but when we got there, we were invited into this comfy and cosy lounge area, complete with sofas, xbox and pool table, and the food was brought inside for us. such enjoyment! but when it came to the games session, everyone did what we called 'siam'. haha. over the week i met some new people, and i wanna meet more! i really hope that this time, everything turns out fine, at least close to the way i want it to, since not everything can be perfect.
this week was a
happy one =) BDA tutorial was fine. we had
M&M's to eat! after we experimented of cos. i'm such a sucker for food. haha. so embarrassed after i realised i was the only one eating the chocolates one after another non-stop. no one was eating in class! but i didn't violate any rules, the tutor said we could eat. she's nice. and i'll no longer be friendless in BDA lectures cos i've got my tutorial partner =) on the other hand, the finance tute was an
ABSOLUTE BORE. the last thing i really needed was a strict, monotone n mumbling teacher. so, not very happy with that one. at least i could go home after that, and that's smth to look forward to. the highlight of the day is still macro lecture!!! it really perks me up & i'm so glad it's my first lecture for the day. i had a tutorial friend for company & through him i got to know cherie & sunmi. we're truely international:
s'pore, HK, china, & korea! and i can never emphasize how funny my macro lecturer is. i can only say: H-I-L-A-R-I-O-U-S. especially today, he got the whole hall cracked up. but it's impossible to portray what he did in words, which is quite a pity.
the weather's getting cooler, but i'm lovin' every bit of it! heard that its 40smth degrees in Perth. my poor friends who are there, i hope they haven't melted.
my heart's singing =)
